The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about building relationships and networking. The candidate must be comfortable reaching out to various organizations, individuals, and schools to gain support for awareness raising campaigns. By working with a small team, this internship provides the opportunity to gain real world, professional experience in the international development and nonprofit arenas. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual passionate about making a difference.
This is a part-time position and can be completed either remotely or hybrid. Hours may vary.
This is an unpaid internship that is applicable for college credit or volunteer hours.
Primary Responsibilities: The intern will support our organization by:
- Drafting and sending 100 Million monthly newsletters to our youth activist network
- Researching potential partner organizations and individuals connected to our mission, specifically those we could ask to collaborate with for the awareness raising campaigns
- Maintaining communication with partner organizations
- Assisting in updating the 100 Million US website
- Tabling at community outreach events, such as high school fairs, local town events, college open houses, and virtual events
- Connecting with schools looking for potential guest speakers/presentations on child labor and activism
- Assisting in updating the existing education curricula to be used in schools for raising awareness about the global child labor crisis
- Contributing to the drafting of op-eds and/or blog posts
- Attending coalition meetings on issues related to children’s rights

Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to pay close attention to details
- Capacity to work both in a team and independently with varying degrees of supervision
